When you think of the East End of Long Island, for most not that much comes to mind aside from the Hamptons and Montauk, but the lonely North Fork is now buzzing with new businesses the multiple wineries and breweries make it a must see if you intend to explore the most eastern reaches of Long Island, but you may feel limited by how much exploring you can actually get done if your only way of getting around is a car.

With our new Boat Rental program, Peconic Water Sports gets you and your family or friends in the Great Peconic Bay in your own luxurious Scout outboard, free to explore TheNorth Fork, Shelter Island and the Hamptons as well as surrounding Noyac Bay, Southold Bay and Gardiners Bay.

With a multitude of restaurants, beaches and historical landmarks you can not only find amazing fishing and family water sports conditions. But wonderful hang out spots. Contrary to what most people think Peconic Bay waters get well into the Mid 70’s, which paired with a hot day makes for refreshing swimming conditions.

Shelter Island holds the famous Sunset Beach Hotel, which is a fantastic place to anchor the boat and enjoy the restaurant, bar and beach. Too busy there? Head to the other end of the island through West Neck Harbor and pull up to the guest slips at Salt Restaurant! They have this awesome bar the is made out of an old boat, it is a fantastic place for a few drinks in the summer heat.

Over on North fork there is also multiple options, find a spot in Greenport town, there is a fantastic fresh Oyster shucking spot called Little Creek Oysters, if you like shucking your own, want some delicious chowder or just have a nice beer outside they have a great scenic view of the area. Another favorite is the Greenport Brewery on Carpenter Street, well worth a visit. Theoretically we would list every restaurant in Greenport as they are all walking distance.
